COMMUNITY SERVICE

  • The 2019-2020 National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division theme is Building Bridges! In the spirit of connecting and engagement, we have launched the Diversity Pipeline & Mentoring Initiative.  While much of the pipeline work occurs within the United States, the NBA YLD also recognizes the potential to make a difference on a global scale. Recognizing this pipeline, the NBA YLD is hosting two community service activities on Thursday, February 20th at the Howard Cooke Primary School in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Conference participants will have the opportunity to read to and with students between six and eight years old and participate as judges, mentors and observers during the ''Jamaica Day" debate competition for fifth grade students.

  • How Can You Participate? All registrants are encouraged to contribute by donating a book featuring diverse characters. If you are interested in participating in the community service activity during the conference, please email nbajamaica@gmail.com by February 5, 2020.
